The Podcast

Through this podcast, we hope to tell the story of Jerusalem by discussing the personalities, sites, and events that shaped the history of this one-of-a-kind city, and influenced the make-up and character that we see still today.  We will accomplish this feat not through a series of lectures, but rather by having a conversation.  In other words, we are just two tour guides / scholars talking about one of the greatest cities in the world.  We invite you to listen in, and if you so choose, to join our conversation.

The Participants

Matityahu Glassman

Originally from Atlanta, GA, I moved to Israel with my wife, Julie, in 2010.  Our daughter, Tiferet, was born in March, 2014, and we're proud to say that she is a first generation Jerusalemite.

In the States, I spent 4 years in New Orleans, LA studying at Tulane University, and hold a degree in Classical Studies and Ancient History.  Between college and moving to Israel, I spent a total of 5 years in the Washington, D.C. area working in politics, focusing on issues related to the U.S.-Israel relationship, and another 2 years in Israel, studying in yeshiva and living/working on a kibbutz.

Before becoming a Licensed Tour Guide in Israel, I spent several years guiding in Jerusalem at the City of David, Western Wall Tunnels, and Southern Wall Excavations.

Tal Chenya

Tal Henia lives in Mitzpe Yericho, a town between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. He is 32 years old, happily married to Moriyah and the father of Yonatan, Achinoam and Karmel.

In addition to working as a licensed tour guide in Israel, he also spent several years guiding for the Western Wall Heritage Foundation and City of David Foundation. In addition, Tal works as an educational director in the Beit Orot school on the Mount of Olives.  He has a bachelor's degree in biochemestry, and is currently working on a Masters in Israel Studies, with plans to pursue a PhD in the field, as well.  Tal invites you to join him to become familiar with the ancient stones, stories and vistas to discover Jerusalem’s story.
